WELCOME BACK to Music Moves. We are looking forward to another year of helping your child(ren) develop musicianship and keyboard skills!
In an effort to continually offer the best instruction possible, please note the following studio changes for the 2008-09 academic year:
- LOCATIONS: Piano lessons will be offered at the Home Studio on Ravinewood Circle and at our new Forest Hills location in room #21 (upper level) at Genesis United Methodist Church in the Watermark Center (Cascade/Spaulding). Both locations offer a waiting area. Maps for these locations are at our website.
- SCHEDULING: Genesis UMC lessons are available on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Home Studio lessons are available on Mondays. Before school or Saturday lessons are also available at our Home Studio.
- INSTRUCTION TIME: Your child will receive more instruction time this year. All students will need to reserve a minimum of 40-minutes of weekly instruction. Flexible lesson times will continue to be available with opportunity for additional shared instruction time. Please state any specific preferences on your registration form. In addition, our teaching calendar will be extended from 30 lessons to 34 lessons, beginning the week of September 8 and ending in June. Regular monthly group lessons will be offered on your child’s normal lesson day.
- CHRISTMAS: This year, your child will create his or her own Christmas Carol CD using the Garageband program on the studio MacBook Pro. Additional copies may be requested to use as gifts for family and friends.
- NATIONAL FEDERATION OF MUSIC CLUBS FESTIVAL: For the first time, families interested in the benefits of participation in the National Federation of Music Clubs Festival will have an opportunity to do so. Details will be explained at our Open House on Saturday, Sept. 6 from 1-3 pm.
- OPEN HOUSE: The teaching year will begin with an Open House for parents and students. Attendance will help you familiarize yourself with our new location and receive important information. Please bring your student with you to Genesis United Methodist Church (map at the website) in room #21 on Saturday, September 6 from 9 -3 pm. Even if you plan to take lessons at the Home Studio, drop in to receive important information and student materials at the Open House. A formal presentation about our studio is planned at 12:30, 1:30, and 2:30 pm. Families interested in exploring our Music Together® program for younger siblings should additionally consider visiting us in the morning (demo classes at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30. Register at the Open House to win a gift certificate towards Music Together or a piano student choice (CD or music game).
- TUITION for 2008-09. Our tuition package this year is $995/student. For your convenience, equal monthly payment options are available: a 12-month plan at $83/month or a 10-month plan at $99.50/month.
